The Fire Resistant Cable, FRC-2, consists of non-combustible materials to ensure operation in a fire situation with temperatures exceeding 1000 oC and/or deployment in a mud or chemical containing environments. This cable also meets the strongest requirements for functionality during a fire in terms of  flame propagation, smoke density and toxic gas emission. Thus, this cable can be used for emergency and operational systems on oil and gas platforms, in road and rail tunnels, in buildings, etc. 

 

The fibre optic cable is based on a loose tube design, in which the fibres are protected by a laser-welded stainless steel tube. It is manufactured with an outer diameter of 3.7 mm and contains a maximum of 48 single mode or multimode fibres.
