Nexans’ cables increases security of supply in the Baltic region
Estlink 2 is the second high voltage direct current interconnection between Estonia and Finland.
The interconnector Estlink 2, which crosses the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea and connects Finland and Estonia, has tripled the transmission capacity between the Baltic and Nordic regions. The DC subsea cable has been manufactured in Nexans’ specialized facility in Halden, Norway, and has been installed by Nexans’ own cable laying ship, the C/S Nexans Skagerrak.
In this film you will see parts of the production, testing and installation process, including pulling and jointing.
